Camp ICS Jr.

(PreK-2nd Grade)

Camp ICS Jr. is a summer camp ministry of Intermountain Christian School (ICS) for children age 4 (by June 1st) through students that are entering the 2nd grade. The camp runs for eight weeks of the summer from June 2nd through August 1st. For kiddos 3rd to 6th grade, Check out Camp ICS!

 

How to register for camp

Step 2: Complete your Registration, sign up for a specific week or weeks you want your child to participate in.

Step 1: Complete the Preliminary Registration to pass along basic information on your child, shirt size, allergies, etc.

Dates & Times

Morning kick-off rally

  • Week of June 2nd through Week of July 28th

  • No Camp the Week of June 30th 

  • Camp Timeframe: 9am-3pm M-F

  • Earliest campers can arrive at 7:30 am

  • Latest campers can leave without paying for aftercare is 3:15 pm

  • Latest campers can leave with paying for aftercare is 5:30 pm

Pricing*

  • One time registration fee: $10

  • One week of camp without after care: $300

  • One week of camp with after care: $375

  • One day of camp without after care: $70

  • One day of camp with after care: $90

Discounts

  • Early bird discount: $75 off the weekly rates if you register by March 7, 2025

  • Sibling discount: $50 off the weekly rates beginning with the second registered sibling

What to Wear to Camp

  • Close-toed shoes that are good for running

  • Clothes that are suitable for playing inside and outside during the summer

  • Clothes that do not display vulgarity or advocate for causes contrary to the teachings of the Bible

What to Bring to Camp

  1. Backpack or tote

  2. Cold lunch that does not need to be microwaved

  3. Water bottle

  4. Snack (campers who stay for after care will be provided a second snack)

  5. Sunscreen, sun glasses, and a hat (if desired for outdoor activities)

  6. Sleeping mat and pillow for Pre-K, and Kindergarten (optional for first graders)  2nd grade will not take naps. Extra change of clothes

Weekly Themes

Week of June 2

Theme: Science Part I

Come join us as we step into the world of Science. We’ll enjoy learning about natural history (earth and rock) as well as physics (airplanes and balloons). We’ll head to Uptown Jungle on Friday for some fun play and to experience some physics in action!


 Week of June 9

Theme: Science Part II

Come join us for our 2nd week of Science. This week we will focus on science experiments: from mixing colors to bubbling volcanoes. We’ll end our week with a visit to the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum.


Week of June 16

Theme: Pets

God made some pretty neat creatures. How cool is it that we can have them in our home? We will be learning all about pets from scaly reptiles to cuddly mammals. We’ll head to Uptown Jungle on Friday to get some energy out.


Week of June 23

Theme: Farm Animals

More Animals! This week join us to learn about farm animals and where they live. We’ll do some fun games, read books and do art and craft projects. For our field trip we’ll head to the Natural History Museum of Utah.


Week of July 7

Theme: In the Kitchen Part I

 IT’S SNACK TIME! Who doesn’t love a good snack? This week we will be creating snack mixes as well as learning about how the right kind of food is good for our bodies. We’ll head to Uptown Jungle for our Friday Field Trip.


Week of July 14

Theme: In the Kitchen Part II

 Time for baking. We’ll be learning about some amazing baking creations. We’ll also do hands-on learning by baking some yummy desserts. We’ll follow directions, to measure and mix ingredients. We’ll take a field trip to Mrs. Cavanough’s for a chocolate factory tour.


Week of July 21

Theme: Dinosaurs

Come join us for a week of all things Dinosaurs. We’ll learn about what Christian Scientists have to say, as well as do arts and craft projects focused on Dinosaurs. We’ll end our week with some play time at Uptown Jungle.


Week of July 28

Theme: Creatures of the Deep

 Come join us as we learn about some pretty amazing giants of the deep. We’ll get to create through arts and crafts as well as visualize how big one of these deep sea creatures really is. To close out our week we will head to the Living Planet Aquarium.

 

FAQs

Q: Will my camper participate in the weekly theme all day long?

No. They will spend 1.5 hours participating in the theme and the rest of the day is filled with Bible stories, group games, and other fun activities.

Q: Will my camper participate in activities with 3rd-6th graders?

No. Camp ICS Jr. (PreK-2nd) is a separate camp from Camp ICS (3rd-6th). Activities are designed specifically for your camper's age group.

Q: What are the counselor to camper ratios?

There is at least one counselor for every eight campers. Each group of campers will have two counselors and no more than fifteen campers.

Q: Will my camper take naps?

Camp ICS Jr. campers will have an opportunity to rest daily. Rising PreK and K will have a dedicated rest time to nap. Rising 1st graders will have a designated quiet time, where they can nap if needed. 2nd graders will not take naps.

Q: Can I register my camper register for individual days?

Yes.

Q: Can I register my camper for half days?

No.

Q: Can I be refunded for days I keep my camper home?

If you give one week's notice of cancellation, you will receive a full refund. Otherwise, your payment will not be refunded.

Q: Do I have to pay for everything up front?

The preliminary registration fee of $10 is due immediately. The fee for each week of camp is due seven days before that particular week of camp begins.

Q: Does my camper have to attend ICS to come to camp?

No. In the summer of 2024, 71% of our campers were not ICS students.

Q: My camper is 3 years old. Can he or she attend camp?

If your camper turns 4 by June 1, 2025, then they can attend camp. Otherwise, we'll see them next summer!
