At Intermountain Christian School (ICS), we prioritize the safety of our community during inclement weather. This page outlines our procedures for weather-related delays and cancellations.
Decision-Making Process
Inclement weather determinations will be made using the following steps:
If possible, a 2 hour delay or school cancellation will be decided upon and communicated to the ICS community no later than 9:00 p.m. the night prior to the next school day.
If a 2 hour delay or cancellation cannot be determined the evening prior, ICS will communicate any necessary 2 hour delay or cancellation by text, email, and social media no later than 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the event.
Please monitor texts, emails, and social media from ICS carefully during a storm. Our team will work hard to communicate with families and faculty/staff in a timely and clear manner.
Because ICS is a private, Christian school that has community members driving from areas throughout the Salt Lake Valley with a variety of weather and road conditions, we may determine a delay or cancellation that is different from what is decided by area public school districts.
Whenever possible it is the school’s desire to remain in classes and on time. With this in mind, delays or cancellations will only be called when it becomes necessary for overall safety.
